The most desirable colour among fancy diamonds is pink diamonds. It is known as very rare in the nature so its deserve highest price. It is come from unique crystal structures that absorb green and blue light, yielding the pink colour. Found in some place in the world but the biggest source are in Northwest Australia, known as Argyle mine.

Pink diamond also being choosen by many people especially women as the most beautiful colour of diamond , but mostly  found just only in  the small sizes. So, below I share the story with you about the 15 most precious, expensive, famous beautiful pink diamonds  in the world.


Darya e Noor is the largest pink diamond in the world stored safely on the Museum of the Treasury of National Iranian Jewels. The 186 carat is named Darya-e-Nur, also known as the Sea of Light, the River of Light, or the Ocean of Light. Pale-pink diamond. it described as a rose colored diamond. It had ever been in India as a part of crown jewels up to 1739, before the army of Persian (Iran)took it back to their country. This pink diamond has been worn on the armbands of kings, as well as on their turbans. One faucet is said to be inscribed with the initials of a Shaw.
The Noor-ul-Ain or "the light of the eye" is a pale pink, oval brilliant-cut stone, weighing around 60 carats diamond. This name was probably given by Nader Shah and his men, after the capture and sacking of Delhi and Agra in 1739 and believed to have been recovered from the Golconda mines in India . The diamond's name before this name given (while with the Mogul Emperors of India) was not known.The Noor-ol-Ain is the principle diamond mounted in a tiara of the same name made for Iranian Empress Farah Pahlavi's wedding to Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in 1958.




The Steinmetz Pink come as the finest (probably) pink diamond ever found. it was discovered in southern Africa. It have weighs 59.60 carats and has been graded as Internally Flawless, an extremely rare and coveted clarity grade. The Steinmetz Group took approximately 20 months to cut the diamond with eight people worked together on fashioning it from the original 100-carat rough stone. They give the facet of the Steinmetz a unique oval mixed cut with a step-cut crown. 




The Shah Jahan is the table-cut or taviz pink diamond, weighing 56.71 carats. , is one of several that have been credited as a match for the Great Table Diamond viewed, by Jean-Baptiste Tavernier at Golconda in 1642. .The Shah Jahan Table Cut strongly resembles the diamond of octagonal outline in a turban ornament in a portrait of Shah Jahan, and the stone correlates reasonably well with a description by Tavernier of a table cut weighing 60 ratis (about 54 carats) shown to him by Aurangzeb, Shah Jahan's son, in 1665. The Shah Jahan was offered at auction by Christies in Geneva in 1985 but was not sold.



The Agra were put up for sale at Christie's in London on June 20th, 1990, by the vendor who had inherited from Louis Winans in 1927. During World War II it was buried in the garden and was still safely in place at the end of the war. 
The Agra was graded by the Gemological Institute of America as a naturally colored Fancy Light Pink, VS2 clarity diamond. It weighed 32.34 carats. It was expected to fetch £1,500,000 but after fierce bidding it sold for £4,070,000 (about $6.9 million). The winning bid was made by telephone and came from the SIBA Corporation of Hong Kong. Since that appearance the Agra has been recut to a modified cushion shape (and judging by photos, most likely a stellar brilliant cut) weighing 28.15 carats.


 

The Pink Sunrise is a fancy pink, diamond, with a design similar to the Centenary Diamond (heart shape) modified by famed diamond cutter Gabi Tolkowsky and his team (who also the cutter of the largest diamond in the world, the Golden Jubilee Diamond)..The Pink Sun rise is 29.79-carat internally flawless (IF).


Christie's auction held in New York, on October 19th, 2005 was known as a competitive bid diamond. Four buyers vied for the chance to own the gem, and finally went to Amer Radwan, the Dubai based diamond dealer, for the price more than 6 million US$. He was named his new fancy pink color, 25.02-carat diamond as The Rose of Dubai .


The Mouawad Lilac is refer to the 24.44-carat emerald cut, and fancy pink color, owned by Robert Mouawad. Derived from the name Robert Mouawad, the head of the world renowned international gem and jewelry dealers, the Mouawad Jewelers, established in 1890 by his grandfather Daoud Mouawad.





Queen Elizabeth II have a collection of beautiful pink diamond as her wedding present in 1947 given by Canadian geologist Dr. John Williamson. The Williamson is a 23.6 Carat Pink Diamond that cut by Briefel and Lemer of London in 1948 and became the center stone of a brooch designed by Cartier in 1952. This stone was discovered in a mine in Tanzania.




The Pink Orchid diamond belong to Graff Diamonds of London. It is a purplish-pink with marquise cut, having weighs 22.84 carats. Pink diamonds have sold for up to $1,000,000 a carat. Pink diamonds are considered a Type II and get their color from a process known as Plastic Deformation.

 
The Mouawad Pink diamond is weighing 21.06. having a radiant-cut, fancy pink colour, and a VS-1 clarity. Its cut is a combination of the emerald-cut (on the top) and the brilliant-cut (on the bottom). Although this Mouawad Pink is the smallest Mouawad's collection of diamonds in size, still,  its estimate value is over 12 million US dollars.





The Hortensia diamond is a flat light pink diamond, Weighing in at 20.53 carats. The name of Hortensia was from the Queen of Holland, Hortense de Becuharnias, which is the step-daughter of the great Napolean Bonaparte. The Hortensia is displayed in Louvre , Paris. The king Louis XIV bought this precious stone. On the pavilion, this rare gem has a crack. In the year 1792, a number of jewels were being stolen from the Garde Meuble Paris, and The Hortensia diamond was one of them. Later on, this stone was recovered in Paris.


 
The Graff Pink Supreme is a 10.83-carat, pear-shaped diamond, with unknown color and clarity grades. However going by the photographs of the diamond, it appears to be internally flawless, having a saturated pink color that may qualify for a fancy pink diamond. Graff bought the stone at Christie's Geneva auction in November, 1993 for 6,163,500 Swiss francs.

     
    The Grand Condé is a light pink pear-shaped stone and having 9.01 carats weight. Louis XIII was the King that presented it to Louis de Bourbon, Prince of Condé, who had distinguished himself as Commander of the French Army in the famous Thirty Years' War, later he became known as the Grand Condé. Until his death in 1686, the Prince was wellknown as an enthusiastic patron of the arts also an ardent admirer of various charming women !
    Today, it is on display in the Museé de Condé in Chantilly, France. Though on October 11th, 1926, the diamond was stolen from the museum but later found and returned. It have other name as the Condé Pink, the Condé Diamond, or Le Grand Condé.

    The Vivid Pink is a rare, 5-carat pink diamond. While the vast majority of natural pink diamonds exhibit a colour modifier like purple, orange or grey, ‘The Vivid Pink’ really shows an absolut "no secondary colour" so that its extremely rare. An auction event set by Christie's in Hong Kong on Dec. 1, 2009. with estimated price to sell for US$5 to US$7 million, and it will become a world auction record for a pink diamond stone after such auction in Geneva that sold for $7.4 million in 1994. This beautiful pink diamond qualify for the coveted Fancy Vivid colour grading from the GIA, and just only 1 in 100,000 diamonds possesses a colour deep enough to qualify as ‘Fancy’.

    Note : as the auction for The Vivid Pink already done, I have to add a news that  The Vivid Pink Diamond got a new record price at US$10.8 Million  (HK$83,540,000) in Christie's Auction Hongkong (1 Dec 2009).
