Notegolddiamond- It is time for me as newbie blogger to write about my current country banknote. Yesterday, I found a story that in Japan, if you find a fake banknote you should soon go to the police and give it to them. The police will give you the same value of real banknote and award (http://lang-8.com/50669/journals/152782) . For example, if you bring a 10,000 Yen fake banknote, they will give you a 10000 Yen real banknote + 2,000 Yen as a reward to you. Although I dont want to try to do it and even I dont have idea about it. I will ask about this rule to my friends.

Below is a news about counterfeit Yen found in some address. Hope if you read it, then you will more aware of fake Yen bills.
Some counterfeit ten-thousand Yen found in prefecture of Aomori, Iwate, and prefecture of Fukushima. Counterfeit number is more than 40 pieces count by the Asahi Shimbun (on evening of 28th). Each series number of these counterfeit Yen is not match with the characteristic of genuine watermark number, so the police consider that it has made and issued by the same criminal, or by one person / group.
There is a story from a cigarette shop located in the Sakanacho shopping district of the Morioka-shi center. The shopkeeper said that at about 3:00 on the afternoon of January 26th. The man who dressed in a long white coat with age about 30's come and bought a local cigarette priced 320 Yen. When the shopkeeper (woman age 60 years old) in response to customer's change for 9,680 Yen, the man just left.
Next morning, the shopkeeper who cannot differentiate this fake money, was going to ATM for witdhrawal and try to deposit this Yen.It came back with a 'fake' noticed. Then, confirmations about this kind of counterfeit Yen has caming from around this district. Each note number was [HT794921S].
In 2007, a large quantity (2,100 pieces) of false ten-thousand yen bills were used in 5 capital prefectures including Tokyo and Fukuoka in 2007. An 18-year-old student from a high school in Kobe was arrested Sunday on suspicion of using a counterfeit 1,000 yen bill at the Shiawase no Mura flea market in Kobe’s Kita Ward.
According to police, the student admitted to counterfeiting the bills himself, saying, “I didn’t have much money, so I printed two bills using the color copier at my house.” Police are currently investigating to see if the suspect has done this before.
The student was caught when he used the bill to attempt to purchase a used book for 50 yen and the woman selling the book noticed the bill was not watermarked.
In Nagoya, Fake 10,000 yen bills found in subway ticket machines.Police said Monday they are probing 37 fake 10,000 yen bills which were found in Sunday on eight subway. Local transportation officials said they will temporarily suspend the use of vending machines vending machine, coin-operated, automatic device for selling goods.
