The cases of bribery polymer material for banknote scandal which involving Reserve Bank of Australia and CBN Nigeria is still under investigating by the police. No...I dont want to share you such an information! here my sharing is about polymer material for banknote.

Banknote material made from polymer first used in Haiti and Costarica, also in the Isle of Man. Afterthat, this kind of material developed by The University of Melbourne in cooperation with Reserve Bank of Australia and CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) in 1988.

It Appear like a plastic paper and made from polymer biaxially-oriented polypropylene (BOPP). Right now, the technology for this polymer is worldwide developed.

This kind of material having speciality incorporate many security features that hard to paper banknotes to avail, besides it improve the durability of banknote. They indeed waterproof and washing machine proof, not absorbent like paper banknote. Besides, it can be recyclabed.

Is this kind slippy ? no... it has texture covered. Another advantage is not shedding paper fibres and can act as disease vecors as it is non-porous polymer.
