New World Record on The Vivid Pink Auction at US$10.8 Million in Hongkong !!

















Notegolddiamond – At last ! The Famous Fabulous Vivid Pink Diamond got a new record price at US$10.8 Million  (HK$83,540,000) in Christie's Auction of Asian and Chinese Art on Tuesday !





The stone is set in a "cushion-cut" ring by famous jewellers Graff Diamonds. Graff also known for handling some of the world's most phenomenon gems such as The Begum Blue, The Golden Star and The Star of Lesotho.

It has become a world auction record for a pink diamond stone after Geneva auction at $7.4 million in 1994.
Christie's also said that this pink gem's per-carat price of  $2.2 million was become the highest ever paid in the world for any diamond !.



Two major auctions Christie’s and Sotheby’s say that in the last few years Hong Kong has emerged as a top location for sales of expensive jewelry, gems and fine wines. As an example, Christie’s clear 101-carat Shizuka diamond has sold in Hong Kong for $6.2 million in May 2008. Source : http://www.christie's.com
